# Buffet pricing Buffet is **free to download and free to use**. There is an optional subscription, **Buffet+**, which removes the limits on the free tier. Current prices are shown on [the App Store listing](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/buffetapp/id6451276445) and inside the app. We do not quote figures here — they change, and a stale price is worse than none. ## Is Buffet free? Yes. On the free tier you can claim a spot at events, browse a daily list of people in the 1:1 tab, message anyone you have matched with, and take part in every group chat you are placed in. If you want to have plans most weeks, yes — comfortably. The subscription costs less than the dinner you are turning up to, and it removes the monthly event cap, which is the only thing standing between you and going out as often as you like. Most members who upgrade do it in their first fortnight, once they have been to one thing and want the next one. If you expect to go to something once a month, the free tier covers you and there is no rush. The annual plan includes a free trial; the monthly plan starts billing immediately. Trial length and terms are shown on the subscription screen in the app before you confirm anything. ## How do I cancel Buffet+? Billing runs through Apple, so cancel at [apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions](https://apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions) or in iOS Settings under your Apple ID → Subscriptions. If you are in a free trial, cancelling before it ends means you are not charged. Deleting the app does *not* cancel a subscription. ## What about the events themselves? Buffet does not charge for a seat at an event and does not book or prepay anything on your behalf. Claiming a spot costs nothing and commits nothing financially — as the app puts it, cold feet are allowed, nothing is booked yet. You cover your own food and drink at the venue, exactly as you would on any other night out, and Buffet takes no cut of what you spend. ## Are there other charges? There is one optional one-off purchase: if you work through the whole daily list in the 1:1 tab, you can buy an extra batch of profiles for the rest of that day.
